About The Artwork

This oil painting was made on a linen canvas. The artist used sketches and watercolors he had made on location to realize it. He used the glazing technique, adding successive thin layers of nearly transparent paint (with two weeks drying time between each layer) in order to give depth and maximum luminosity. 'La Pointe Courte' is a little fishing harbor in Sète in the south of France. It hasn't changed much in centuries and conveys a feeling of peace and serenity. In the background you can see the hills of 'la Gardiole 'range. On the right are huts used by fishermen to store their fishing equipment. In the foreground wooden supports are used to hang the nets for drying. The artist paid a special attention to the reflections of the sky, huts and boats in the water. This oil painting is framed with a box and ready to hang. It may also be sold without a frame on request. Size without the frame: 46x38 cm
