About The Artwork
This collection comprised the inaugural El Charco de Ingenio 2010 calendar. It was dedicated to the memory of a great teacher, botanist and friend Roy Turner. His enthusiastic introduction to the gardens of El Charco de Ingenio, SMA Mexico, was the inspiration to create 12 images of cactus species. The gardens were developed in an effort to preserve, rescue and propagate plants of arid regions within Mexico, especially endangered cactus and succulent species. By creating these works I hope to bring more attention to the incredible biodiversity which surrounds us and depends on botanical programs like El Charco de Ingenio’s in order to protect earth’s extraordinary natural beauties
