Sadness as the main motive of the author's painting of the artist Mykola Kut (Kutniakhov) in the difficult period of the late 80's. XX century. The new social reality has turned the artist's thoughts to his own subjective world and its dependence upon Nature. Making no compromises he suggests a new artistic truth, seaking for no momentary success, he invites to a tolerant dialogue using classical formal values of pictorial art. The presence of his works in Ukrainian culture makes one think of the meaning of art and creation in general.

Ukraine
I was born in Ukraine. My whole life changed in 1965, when I met Illya Ovcharenko, the sculptor who introduced me to the world of visual art. I was lucky to study in the monumental painting workshop founded by the famous monumentalist Mykhailo Boychuk — a Ukrainian teacher and friend of a Mexican monumentalist painter Diego Rivera, whose traditions and heritage I followed at an early stage of my work. I create monumental spatial paintings. Their distinctive features are compositional perfection and original coloring. Today I am one of the few artists in modern Ukraine who work with the landscape theme specifically in large formats having developed my own personal style. My art is versatile, it contains monumental works made in different techniques: smalt mosaics, stained glass, encaustic, murals, portraits, iconography, multi-figured compositions. My easel and monumental works are in museums and private collections they also decorate city squares and architectural facades in Ukraine and abroad.
