About The Artwork

“Sainte grenade” is one of the rare watercolors/inks by Nathalie Cubéro on the art market. The painting represents a grenade, with a "chopped" drawing in pencil, surrounded by a crown of light drawn in watercolor and ink. Aerosol spray was also used for this work. The artist's work here is very expressive. The artist reminds us here of our condition as human beings. The question of “what will remain after” is posed to us here as spectators of the artwork. The artwork is signed by hand, it is in the format 43 x 43 cm. It is framed in a wooden frame with brushed metal finish, and in the format 50 x 50 cm.

Nathalie Cubéro is a French painter, living and working in Aix-en-Provence, France. Her work is based on several techniques inspired by urban art such as graffiti or stencil, but also academic techniques, like leaf gilding, in a special care to marry the opposites. Nathalie Cubéro is interested in the human being in all that is most secret and intimate, and depicts her characters in ambiguous situations, at the crossroads. Her protagonists find themselves face to face with the outside world, but especially with themselves, in an almost sudden detachment of the visible reality towards the non palpable. Something is happening, but the viewer must find the answers in his own emotions. Made of personal or fictitious stories, her paintings illustrate an insidious threat, an unrequited happiness, a silent gesture, as many situations turned towards the intimacy of each individual, thus titillating the imagination of the spectator.
