Saladeen and the Crusaders Painting

I have lucky enough to have seen a lot of places in this world and want to see more, I spent a lot of time in the Middle East and have visited almost all of the interesting sites. I am a avid reader and was lucky enough to have childhood friends who taught me some Arabic. Two Historical Characters who always fascinated me were Saladeen (Saladin) and King Richard. Both were the Rock Stars of the Crusades.They were in the same place at the same time once and the result was a draw. Shortly after Richard left to return to his Kingdom and capture. And Saladeen became a Arabic Folk Hero. In this piece I created an eye trap which makes the viewer's eyes follow the movement in a cycle through the painting. The result is a violent scene with a dreamlike feeling. Some times I like to joke with the viewers and I hope you may find it. Normally I paint with great passion but here I flirt with an almost cartoon feeling. Other wise this theme would be too gruesome to look at.
