Satyawati and King Shantanu Painting

Mythological stories always inspired me. This original painting is very bright and colorful. When carefully observed viewers can imagine about the ancient India. The painting narrates about the story of Kuru King Shantanu and his wife Queen Satyawati in the Indian epic 'The Mahabharata'. Satyawati, a beautiful and fragrant lady brought up by Dashraja (a fisher man). Satyawati used to ferrying on the river and also catches fish from the river. Then one day when Shantanu was passing by the river, the sweet fragrance of Satyawati ( That’s why she also called Yoyongandha) attract him and he discover that it is coming from the beautiful lady. King Shantanu falls in love with Satyawati. According to the epic Satyawati was the daughter of Chedi King Uparicharabasu and a cursed apsara Adrika. However, the King does not accept her and gives her to the fisherman Dashraj. Some scholars praised Satyawati for her handling the adverse situation where as some other scholars criticized her for her blind ambitions. My Painting is originally created by me only and is not any type of copy. Look there is a short signature on the front side of the painting for authentication.
