Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Ink, Oil, Spray Paint on Canvas.

4:30am. Wednesday March 20, 2019. I’ve had this phrase written down on a post-it note for about a year. It’s wrinkled and covered in paint now, but I knew I couldn’t force the piece until I was ready to get it right. So yesterday/today(still awake) I finally bought more canvas and made this yesterday/tonite/this morning. It’s all my favourite colours I like to paint with, with two different hues of neon pink oil sticks and neon pink spray paint. The skull is my favourite subject to paint & I feel it especially works well with the phrase. It’s on unstretched canvas.

Without too much explanation, I think scavenger Culture is kind of defining of the modern age we now live in; everyone obsessed with likes and followers, one hundred selfies a day, all scavenging for scraps of fake attention. I’m just trying to make dope art.
