About The Artwork
I am fortunate to live in close proximity to the beach and enjoy spending time at the ocean relaxing and watching the waves and clouds. Sometimes I photograph the sunrises and sunsets but prefer to work directly on the canvas from feeling and memory in order to imbue the work with a sense of place and feeling. I work in acrylic because it is less toxic than oil paint and I found that if I overworked the painting by blending or forcing detail too much then it lost something in the process. I suppose it is more akin to Asian brush painting ...I hope the viewers can feel a sense of the place and enjoy the moment as it speaks through the artwork
