This painting is part of the Contemplating Nature series. The inspiration for this painting comes from the sea. The island where I live is surrounded by nature and is known for the beauty of the sea. At sunset the beach becomes empty, the sky turns pink, the waves move on the sand with sounds that lull. It is peaceful and almost silent.

Manuela Mirai lives and works in Sardinia, Italy. Her artistic research is focused on studies of color, matter and space. She is inspired by the nature of the place where she was born, and through her work she investigates the relationship between human being, nature and divine. In 2019, she completed her Bachelor Degree in painting and Visual Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari. She has taken part in several exhibitions, including the Cà Pesaro Gallery in Venice, the Giorgio Amendola Foundation in Turin, the MAS.EDU Museum in Sassari and the Gavino Ballero Theatre in Alghero. Manuela works mainly with painting, drawing and textiles.
