About The Artwork
The tail-end of storm Eleanor threw raging waves against the shore at West Bay, Dorset (England). The churning, spewing, vortex waves dragged rocks, pebbles and my sensations across the beach and under the water. Foaming. Erupting. Overwhelming. Drowning. My response to this experience is set out in highly-textured paint. Melted wax applied directly to the paper adds thick texture and carved through with pastel. The mounting giant waves at the point of crashing climax.
