"Self Reflection" Painting

The imagery and the story of each painting are derived from my subconscious mind through practice, philosophy, studying other artists and my surroundings. This series of hair paintings started with a question, "Can I still capture the essence of a person without showing his or her face, which is often times what tells the most about the person?" I am forever inspired and motivated by the music I play during my studio hours, and for each of the people represented in this series, I played a different set of music to help me sync with the models and their stories. I recently returned to practicing classical piano and am excited to see it influence my body of artworks for the next project​.
