Cheryl Eggleston is a visual artist based in South Florida, USA. She is a Geometric Surrealist painter best known for her work in alkyd and for incorporating texture through hand-carved plates printed directly onto the canvas. Her practice emphasizes hard-edge compositions and a restrained color palette dominated by blues, browns, grays and yellows. Eggleston’s paintings often feature architectural forms—most notably yellow structures punctuated by black, empty windows—set within blue skies, mountains, and barren plains. Repeating geometric motifs, including textured, or thinly outlined squares, further reinforce a sense of rhythm, structure, and quiet tension throughout her work. Influenced by the early Surrealist paintings of Giorgio de Chirico that aimed to reveal a reality beyond the physical world, Eggleston’s recent work is increasingly informed by metaphysical inquiry. She explores the idea that thought—both conscious and subconscious—carries energy capable of connection and influence beyond the individual, infusing her compositions with a contemplative and psychological depth. Her work is held in private collections throughout the United States.
