Sequencing Scheme #1 Painting

As with some other small works produced around the same time, this work started its like humbly as a way of drying off a foam roller containing excess black paint. In this work, the roller was dried by rolling it vertically, producing a series of vertical lines across the canvas horizontally. As the work evolved, a composition emerge, containing a curious arrangement of dots, dashes, squiggles, and cryptic annotation, producing an effect somewhat like a representation of a musical sequence or other form of sequence - perhaps even a message written in some unknown language or notation system.
