In this series I explore pure abstraction by reducing the surface of the painting to normally horizontal stripes or bands. Through gesture, color and non-color I explore light, shadow, negative space, positive space, emptiness, fullness, reducing the formal features variables to a very simple approach where I try to get maximum expression and emotion.
