This is 2 of 8 of a "Lost Empire" series. Here, is a Shakokidogu which are googly-eyed figurines, possibly representing fertility goddesses, made during the Jomon period in ancient Japan, 14th-3rd century BC. The sculpture sits against an old Japanese textile, outlined with colored thread. I was just mulling over how all empires come to an end, sooner or later.
