About The Artwork
Silver Seaspray is part of the Dune series, inspired by sand dunes and inlets, shells and rockpools. The entire artwork shimmers as it is painted in pearl paint inspired by the soft sea sand and washed up coral and shells. An elegant medley of off whites, soft creams, greys and silver tones. There are areas of gunmetal silver and metallic silver leaf. The artwork is painted in acrylic and with highlights of charcoal and small areas of metallic silver leaf that changes colour depending on the angle of the viewer. The full size is 152cm high x 149cm wide. 59.5 x 58.6inches After stretching it will be approximately 56 inches x 55inches (142 x 139cm) - framing will be larger depending on the frame. It is possible to make this a perfect square by trimming it slightly. I have cropped the painting to show ( 56 inches x 55inches) 142 x 139cm but the artwork flows to the edge of the canvas . The signature is on the front of the artwork. This artwork is un-stretched and ready to be framed or stretched. I paint, I create and make things that make me happy. Sounds simple enough... but maybe that's what it should be. I was born in Ireland, grew up in Zimbabwe and have lived in the UK,USA and Australia. Meeting new people and exploring where I live inspires much of my work. I create in a medium appropriate to the inspiration. My artwork finds expression in oils, acrylics, charcoal, mixed media and glass. I use print making, stenciling, texture, fabric and transfers to create multi-layered tactile pieces. You will find my unique artwork in offices, hotels, homes, bars and restaurants in Australia, Europe, USA, Canada, China, Singapore and Southern Africa. I have 14 years of experience consulting on various international projects where the work was created to specification as the majority of the projects required custom made artwork. I understand how to evaluate and select materials that align with aesthetics, compliance and individual needs. I am very comfortable with collaborating on a brief and love the cross pollination of ideas that result from co-designing art work.
