Wood cradle board with tissue paper, acrylic, wax, oil paint, graphite pencil. While painting, there was something about the chair by my side that encouraged me to paint it. Satisfied that the legs were indicated to my liking, I then created the chair seat by applying naples yellow, defining the seat shape. I was left with the eggplant colored area to its left. As I often do, I saw an indication of a anthropomorphic head / chair back with a nose and mouth already within the paint, so I decided to leave this area. With that, I flecked paint for an eye and created a suggestion for an interior space.

I'm fascinated by the essence of painting itself—its process, how the paint moves on the canvas, and the vivid expressiveness of colors and textures that create a tangible and emotional bridge between my work and the viewer. The layers of paint invite you into a world of sensation and meaning that's yours to interpret. My approach often involves revisiting and reworking the canvas, much like the way relationships evolve and renew over time. My art reflects my journey—my introspections, connections with others, and, fundamentally, my relationship with painting itself. Human figures frequently emerge in my work, symbolizing the universal experiences of emotion, values, encounters, and the passage of time. These figures capture fleeting moments, bridging the present with the memory of a distant, earlier self. While I play with the balance between reality and imagination, I also embrace the unpredictable, using it to capture your attention and keep you engaged. A recurring theme in my work is visibility, particularly reflecting on my identity as a woman navigating a phase of life that often feels overlooked by society. It's this struggle for visibility, for recognition, that resonates through my art, connecting with viewers on a profoundly personal level.
