This is a series of six oil paintings on canvas. They were done from on-site drawings that are part of a series titled Winter Into Spring where I did a drawing a day from the aspen trees in my yard and then in the forest. I owe the title to the poem by Wallace Stevens, 13 Ways of Looking At A Blackbird.

B. 1955 in Brooklyn, NY. Raised in Queens, moved to Manhattan, then back to Greenpoint, Bklyn. Moved in 1988 to a small rural town in the Rocky Mountains, Ridgway, CO where I still live and have a studio. I lived in Spain in 2012-2013 and continue to make regular trips there to draw and paint. Work from my recent show Blowdown was featured in the Spring issue of Fungi Magazine
