About The Artwork
A body of sharp raised lines that float above the surface with a repoussè effect that accentuates reflected light and shadow over the translucent texture. This painting portraying a nude with a fox pelt wrapped around her neck, exposes the irony of what our society considers “sexy” is in fact a blood-soaked exploitation of women and animals. The painting seduces the viewer with its sensuality at first. Then, between the lines she emerges and the viewer began to perceived the violent that has her torn into shreds. This shift creates a perceptual collision that ends as a statement of the human condition. The painting challenges the viewer with polarized feelings and unresolved crux.
