Sky, Water, Water, Clouds Painting

Water ....the shadows underneath, the myraid shades of colors, the strong contrast and the subtle value changes when you look at water is something that has always amazed me. The challenge of painting water is different from anything else it is difficult to produce an image that can be understood by others and captures the beauty I see. I learn something everytime and that keeps me interested and willing to try new approaches. But what amazes me the most is that everytime I attempt to paint water no matter how much I plan or study I feel like i can never follow my plan or replicate the image I produce even after attempting to paint the same image back to back on two different canvases. My paintings of water always have a life of their own and seem to evolve on their own and I feel lucky to be a part of it. Learning to leave this effect alone and not superimpose my expectations of what I feel or want water to look like can be incredibly difficult but when I do I find I enjoy the painting much more in the end.
