SkyScape VIII - Omaha Sunset Painting

SkyScape VIII – Omaha Sunset – The inspiration for this painting, and all the SkyScape series comes from looking at the same landscape and scenery every day, but noticing and capturing the scene during a moment of particular beauty. My daughter encouraged me to take this photo one evening as we were leaving the grocery store 4 years ago. The urban silhouette lends a sense of scale to the "big sky" image, much like SkyScape V. SkyScape VIII was crafted from a palette of over 50 colors and was completed in December 2019. Painted with professional grade acrylic paints and gel medium. Sealed with UV resistant clear, gloss sealant. The canvas is 1.5 inches thick, unframed and painted black around the edges. Textured points at the edges range from .25 to .5 inches off the canvas. This artwork is signed in the lower right corner with the artist's signature, a lower case "e". Wire for hanging is attached.
