Smith's Stream Painting

Though this is a common river to pass as a hiker, rarely do people stop and just stare at this beautiful setting. Most people are heading to the waterfall at the top. They are not taking the time to stop and stare, to embrace each beautiful thing that comes their way. As people passed, I painted. Some didn't even turn their head in the direction of this view, they just looked up. While I agree that having a firm direction and to press forward is the key to arrive at your destination, I also say why not appreciate what is right in front of you? That will make the hike or your life so much more enjoyable. I think appreciate where you are in life right now, and to find the beautiful things as you await arriving towards the waterfall.
