ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Every time I start a new painting, I wait patiently for the forms and colours, each and every of them, to visit me. I never search for them but wait until they feely touch and penetrate me. The making of this picture was no different. I applied one layer to another until I glimpsed the furious face of Mother Nature, the snowstorm. That explains its title.

I was born in Pécs (Hungary) in 1987. I was raised in a small town named Dombóvár. Now I live in Pécs. Trained in graphic design and moving image aesthetics I have been creating paintings in abstract, geometric form for the past 10 years. Currently, my main topic is abstract ecology. My artistic creed is to give testimony of the way the relationship between Man and Nature changes over time, how human ecolgy encroaches upon the ecology of Nature and usurps the Its divine power. Today we are creating our avatars not only in video games where tiumph is all we want but in genuine life where we are trained in triumphing over other species rather than feeling respect and humbleness towards all exsitent beings. My paintings are meant to reflect the abstract patterns of the changing ecological world. Influenced by very different styles from abstract expressionism through prima materia to Oriental ink painting my works are an attempt to express the metaphysics of human existence, to regain the lost sensitivity of a being cast into the digital net of the 21rst century. Saddled with the demand of instant and permanent communication and fatigued with the hurly-burly of virtual life we need the touch of the material spirituality, the directness of organic life, the practice of a kind of mental joga that the body of art, especially fine art objects, offer to us. I hope my works can indeed convey that touch.
