This painting is one of a series of paintings exploring the high mountain landscapes in the Kosciusko National Park in the Australian Alps. It is evocative of the mountain tarns and sedgeland between Charlotte Pass and Perisher This is part of a body of work exploring Alpine landscapes, with a mixed media technique including acrylic paint with cretacolour chalk pastels and occasionally ink. The piece aims to depict the feeling of the landscape, the fresh clean air, the hint of fresh snow, alpine heather and sedgeland, and the open water bodies found in Mountain landscapes.
