I created "SolidGold" to pay tribute to Angie Devisme, a very good friend of mine, from grade school. I learned she passed on the last day of 2020. I was extremely saddened upon hearing of her passing. Although Angie and I haven't hung out since we were teenagers, we were extremely close friends throughout grade school; but attending different high schools separated us. Angie was the first person to get cable tv (THAT WAS HUGE) and we were all at her house to watch the first music video!!! They had the best garage, Angie has brothers and sisters, Debbie, the coolest sister, RIP; so naturally with 6 siblings every kid in town hung out there. Who else would have a couch and stereo in a garage and no cars allowed? We would listen to the latest Journey album, along with other Classic Music. She was cousins with the twins from Styx, cool man. Angie was a truly unique individual, genuine and loving, she cared about everyone, just like her mother, Cookie. Angie was the one person I knew that if I looked her up at any time in my life, we would be able to pick up exactly where we left off years ago. I only wish I had. I have spent many sleepless nights since her passing: thinking about her, her family and all the wonderful times we had together. My Busia, Gramma in Polish, loved Angie as well, she'd say, "Angie, Angie, Angie, that's all you ever talk about," I would just laugh and say, "can I go to Angie's now?" She'd say, "Ok." Busia let me do anything. When I reflect on my friendship with Angie, "SolidGold" is what appeared in my mind, but under a different name though. All of us kids safe in the cocoon of 'that garage', safe from the outside world. We had our whole lives ahead of us and we didn't even care. All we cared about was the moment we were living in, the people we were spending time with and being happy at that moment. Do we focus on that now? Ask yourself. I'd love to be in 'that garage' on Dearborn Street right now; with all the same people, listening to Journey, waiting for the next new music video, that can ONLY be seen at Angie's house. I'd give my life to hear my Busia say Angie's name "just one more time." Peace Be With You. And With You Angie. Thank You for Your Friendship.
