ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by my time growing up in the Sonoran desert of Arizona, where the skies are a gorgeous fire at sunset and the desert plants come to life after rain. The subtle difference in colors of the prickly pear cactus pop against the dark shadows and pastel sunset. The drippy effect of the bottom of the piece lends a dark rawness to the piece that I hope the viewer relates to. The desert is beautiful and raw and consuming.
