About The Artwork

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me! anutu-studio@protonmail.com Jacob just just recently finished this energetic one-of-a-kind sculptural painting "Sophia" in his studio. It was created in his polytonal style, for which he is known for, signed and dated on the back and it comes with a certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist. This original work is ready to hang. If you wish to see more photographs, kindly send a message. Further about the one-of-a-kind artwork "Sophia": The eco aware painting "Sophia" is part of Jacob's deconstruction/reconstruction works of polytonal artworks. He started with this concept during his time in Japan and later continued his research in New York City, San Francisco, and Boston. A modern and very unique fantasy seascape, that was inspired by his own spiritual development and learning, supported by the loving energies of mother nature. A research of the connection of love for nature and wilderness, the forest, the ocean, the animals and the plants distilled in a vision in which on a different layer as well a trauma-like concern vibrates within, in which the fear of doom but certainly of the threat to nature resonates. From this vibration arises an energy that gives nature forces to oppose the threat of man, pollution, climate change, waste issues etc.. Presented at the Free Space Gallery during the first lockdown. A temporary art project where the abandoned shop windows were used to present the art and the numerous visitors from the street side could explore the artworks behind the glass. More about the artist’s work: „Social conditions limit the unlimited space. The collective consciousness is present to foster creativity in order to overcome the limits and restraints build by injustice and unfair social conditions. ‍ The pursuit of truth in freedom, for freedom's sake - I lost, but was not defeated, grew stronger, became more aware, became more grateful. I won, but I am not a winner.“ Jacob Von Sternberg, JVS“ One result of Jacob’s artistic research and his unique concept - Polytonal Art (deconstruction - reconstruction): Through the breaking of old time worn boards, which are marked by time, Jacob creates uncontrollable forms and edges. Violence is transformed into beauty. The tips of the edges appear like scars of the past, which are seamlessly integrated by Jacob into the narration. With the completion of the work, the past trauma is finally transformed into loving energy and the horrors of the past are released and no longer burden the soul. Jacob's polytonal paintings have a sculptural character. Multiple levels of information result from the inclusion of the broken edges of the wood in the overall composition. With appropriate illumination, a further level is added by the deliberately staged play of the resulting shadows. © 2021 JVS Original Artwork - All rights reserved.

What remains is the love and kindness in my heart, which I cherish like a treasure. Whatever happens in life, the beat of our hearts decides the path. The essence of unity is reflected in my art. I travelled the world in search of my family and eventually achieved the healing of generations through my relentless search and longing to reunite my family on two continents. By nature I am actually rather shy and very sensitive. I love to support others. Love to speak about unity, about love, and all the wonders I witnessed on my journey around the world. I am grateful you are interested in my work. Art is my life. My work features small, medium, large and also extra large scale paintings on a very wide variety of surfaces. I use canvas, paper, wood, and several nonconventional surfaces such as time worn wood, vintage papers, and antique textiles, and metal findings that I have collected over the years during my travels. I often paint with tools that I have developed myself or use unconventional ones. At times I refuse to use brushes and painter's knives and use only things from everyday life in an adapted form to create my art. My sculptural works feature beach wood, textile surfaces in combination with colored resin, and a selection of antique findings.
