"Sous vents violents/Under the strong wind/Unter starken Winden" could also have been entitled "Let the party begin". This work is indeed a hymn to summer revelry. The action takes place on an improbable beach where surprising guests mingle with, among others, Pinocchio, Betty Boop, Charlotte Tiramisu (seen in another work of the artist "The Escape of Peter Pan"), and aye-aye lost in an accordion. With pastel colors, Patrick Gourgouillat paints a whimsical and joyful work. The composition is dynamic and delirious. To do so, the artist is inspired by some works of the Dutch painter Jerome Bosch. The full title of this painting is: "Sous vents violents/Under the strong wind/Unter starken Winden With the participation of Pinocchio (Say, he has really aged! He still lies as much?), Charlotte Tiramisu, transvestite and Prima Ballerina assoluta, working in her spare time at the cabaret "Shadow". There, she has just taken a f****** whipping (The evils of alcohol? A big transphobic asshole lurking on the beach? Impossible, really, to define the origin of Charlotte's shiner. And, finally, the very charming Betty Boop who prefers to take the French leave in a stabilized virgin polyethylene rocket (She thought it was a condom? I don't know!). Of course, there are other Earthlings here, including Hubert who loves himself very much, never ceasing to take selfies of his face (He's so handsome, Hubert...). Let's not forget Dentifrice, the aye-aye a great drinker of rum. The action takes place on a polycotton canvas, fine grain, stretched with 10 keys."

"Everything is important, everything is beautiful, everything is sad. Where do we start if we choose to tell life and make it a work of art? Michèle Mailhot My work is eclectic, both in its form and in the use of media. In general, I work in "series". I think that one of the ways of making things interesting is through diversity: the styles as well as the techniques are varied. It can be the animal world [The Animals], societal criticism [Human Behaviour], comic strip-like drawing [Mr Doggy], crazy images as if from a dream or nightmare [Short Stories], gentle melancholy [Sky Blue] or, based on my own experience, phantasmagorical worlds in a dazzling frenzy [Viva La Vida]. I am currently working on the latter series. These series are very different from each other. What interests me are the variations in energy that they imply for me. So I go from one thing to another like one goes through experiences. This is often what happens in art in general and in life in particular.
