A self-taught landscape painter, I live in Oakland, CA. While occasionally working in abstract and sculpture, I find most satisfaction in landscape oils. I am particularly fond of the diverse California landscape, but my travel adventures have taken me to over 80 countries. I was well into my 40s before I begin re-creating those experiences in paintings. My paintings are of actual locations encountered in travel. I try to capture each scene in oil, paying careful attention to the composition, natural colors, and light. I often begin with rough sketches on site which I then finish in the studio.
