Ik was geïnspireerd door o.a. lavatera en nog andere bloemen, ik had me een tijdje somber gevoeld door de lockdown vanwege corona en alle ernstige nieuwsberichten en omdat je haast niemand dichtbij kon ontvangen, maar naarmate het weer zonniger werd, ging ik me beter voelen. Ik wilde met wat frisse kleuren werken. Vandaar dat rose dat ik met wit erdoorheen heb gebruikt. Ik hoop dat iemand anders er ook van opknapt. Het is geschilderd op een soort katoen/linnenachtig doek, niet op canvas maar ik moest kiezen bij het in te vullen materiaal en er stond niet precies bij de omschrijvingen die ik kon kiezen, wat ik bedoelde. Ik varieer wel eens wat qua stijl, ik wil niet steeds iets op dezelfde manier maken. Wel houd ik er van, in het algemeen, om de verf vaak wat dik te gebruiken. Het doek zit op een spieraam gespannen. Ik kan het desgewenst ook in laten lijsten in een eigen atelier met een bijpassende lijst of baklijst, dan zouden er kosten bijkomen. Een passende lijst accentueert vaak wel de speciale accenten in een schilderij. Dit jaar, 2021, heb ik nog iets veranderd aan het lente schilderij, ik heb de kleuren een klein beetje sterker laten contrasteren, het is iets feller nu.

Thank you for looking at my paintings, I'm a woman, who lives in Holland, I paint in different styles with several materials. I like to change my subjects, I prefer to use warm colours and I also like to hear music when I'm painting. I might be inspired by flowers, landscapes but also by pictures in the newspaper or by people that I'm watching. I do not specifically aim to convey a message but I obviously feel delighted when people enjoy or are fascinated in some way by my paintings. I aim to create a balance between composition and colour. My mood obviously influences the creative process; music too can do this also.
