Painted for solo exhibitions at Bradford Cathedral (2017) and Wells Cathedral (2018). One of Martha’s symbols is the key and she is also said to have subdued a dragon. In my painting of her, I have used the dragon to symbolise the constant distractions of the world that pull on us and the key to represent spiritual integrity or growing awareness of truth. This painting has an oak frame which makes the framed dimensions 56cm by 46cm with a 2cm depth.

United Kingdom
I am an artist living and working amidst the Pennines. I am inspired by nature, light, dreams, figures, faces, ancient history, beliefs and folklore. I work primarily as a painter in acrylics for their jewel-like colour, flexibility and quick drying time. Paintings can take me between three weeks to six months to complete as I work in many layers of colour and meaning. Paintings are windows onto Soulscapes. Art is freedom.
