The Artist gained fame working with Sumo, Kabuki Theater, Bunraku, Geisha & Maiko (young Geisha) in Japan for more than 4 decades. A color commentator on the NHK TV worldwide Sumo broadcast for 15 years, she has acted as liaison/translator for NBC sports, Asia Society, President Carter & National Geographic Society, among others. This award winning artist has documented in drawings & paintings; Native Americans, Ballet, Equestrian Events, Hula, Major League Baseball, the NFL, and Broadway Theater. Matsuoka documented Watergate hearings for ABC & CBS before moving to Japan, the Naval Court of Enquiry into the Ehime Maru/Greenville disaster at Pearl Harbor in 2001 for all the networks in USA & Japan, and President Clinton & Bon Jovi for 911 Fundraisers. The Legendary Milton Glaser described Lynn Matsuoka as “probably the greatest living reportage artist”. Matsuoka’s first book “The Scent of Binsuke” was published in 1981.
