Contact us.Lewis works with ‘a beginner’s mind’, his work becoming more and more intuitive as time goes by. In drawing on his subconscious, he produces artworks that reflect feelings and concerns, both personal and planetary, in abstract and representational imagery. In deliberately not developing and building upon a recognizable technique, he stays ‘in the moment’ while striving for honesty on a personal journey of continuous discovery. This process yields an unpredictable variety of work that can be at times messy, sometimes ordered.
In the early 1990s he spent many weekends with a community of artists at the home of the film director, Stanley Kubrick, who lived near him in the UK. Here, he experimented with new methods and media, before setting up his own art studio.
He has exhibited in New York, Marbella, Geneva, Vancouver, France, Switzerland and the UK. He owned and managed the Lewis Evans Art Studio and Gallery on Granville Island, Vancouver, Canada.
He has written both fiction and non fiction titles. His 2011 novel, 'Hominine', is a timely geopolitical thriller that received critical acclaim. In 2021 he published 'Future Perfect Now' - a highly personal daily journal, rich with emotional and philosophical detail that echoes his approach to his art.
His recently published book, 'Breathe In', is the creative repertoire of an artist whose love of art and life shines through, illuminating the dark corners of our minds, with musings, insights and incisive social commentary on our fragmented modern world.
