As a cafe artiste who has been studying the impressionistic work of Renoir, Degas and Monet for 3 decades, this is an homage to Degas with my enduring love and appreciation for the femeninity he had effortlessly captured in his renditions of ballerina, women in their private world grooming themselves. I especially love Degas masterful painting of a working class women yawning as she presses a shirt - which is hanging in the National Gallery of Art in W, DC. I believe that Degas understood the women of his time even better than Renoir and was able to depict the everyday women and their lives for us to have a loving glimpse of the past we do not know first hand. I hope the viewers who share my love for the 19th C Impressionism work enjoy my humble attempt to pay homage to the masters I am constantly inspired by.
