So stoic. So nonchalant. So apathetic to a game of stalk and pounce. I think I'll just make the first move and see those feathers fly.

I try to give the viewers of my work a humorous theme to ponder. I like the idea of those looking at this photo being in on something that the subject may not realize. The theme is an ironic twist on a natural phenomenon, so I decided to give the cat an outrageous color to boost the humor.

This piece's edge is painted bright green.

Hanging hardware is installed.

Joselyn paints in a contemporary, flat style, utilizing bold color to render her uplifting subjects. Her compositions are playful, often including an unexpected element, unique juxtaposition, or unconventional use of scale. Raised in an artistic, modern design-centered family, Joselyn was highly influenced by her father, a noted architect, in her pursuit of creative outlets. In 2012, Joselyn survived two life-threatening illnesses, thanks to a bone marrow transplant from her brother and a relentless sense of humor. She emerged with a new-found desire to simplify life and create works that spark a smile.
