Summer rain... from AGUA Series Painting

"Lluvia de Verano" Summer rain. This is the main piece of my AGUA Series. It has a curious beginning, since I started with the two first sheets (above from left to right) and thought: "Ok, I messed up since I was two emotionally charged and I did not leave any white to breathe..." but then I decided to add more sheets, enough to give space, air, and magic. This is how this painting turned into the most beautiful and filled of emotions artwork from the entire series. After several years experimenting with watercolors, inks, papers, water and other elements, the AGUA Series were born during the summer 2020 and capture the beauty of being alive, being healthy, being parents,… and being able to take a sea bath. In 2020, while sadness reigned in the streets due to the pandemic, I was blessed to hold my newborn baby in my arms, which took me emotionally to new places, as a woman and artist. During this time art was my refuge. My best possibility to express my emotions, changing and contradictory. The intensity of this artwork is an expression of my deepest emotions when I became a mother. Day after day, I learned to deal with loud and quiet, full and empty, joy and sadness, anger and love. After some time, I learned what unconditional love is all about. WATER as an element that cleans, heals, renews, gives life and unites. Technique: Watercolor on 6 Canson sheets 300gr.
