About The Artwork
Sunrise over Kongo Mountain Inspired by the breathtaking view from my house in Osaka. The mountainous views are much wider than this, and beautifully lit by the sunrise. It's really the history of this area that inspires me. Kongo Mountain and the battles during the Kamakura period. I've always loved landscape art, and wanted to challenge myself with acrylics on canvas. It took about 100 hours, over 12 months. Reference photos by myself. Was part of a group show "Transnational Art 2010", at the Osaka Contemporary Art Center.
