About The Artwork
This painting, made with acrylics on a canvas panel, depicts another wonderful corner of my island, namely Capo Caccia, located at the seaside resort of Alghero, on the west coast of Sardinia. This area is located near my city, Sassari, in the north of the island. Capo Caccia, represented by the cliff which has a very particular shape, visible in the painting in the background, is very represented by the local artists. A romantic landscape that offers shows with more varied colors, intense blue during the day and warm colors in the evening. The beaches from which you can appreciate the ridge are very crowded and a destination for tourists. The sea is always calm and the area is sheltered from the winds. I performed this painting on the occasion of an impromptu painting competition, and I wanted to represent the colors with bright and contrasting tones, inserting boats that sail in a calm evening at sunset. I hope this painting can convey the calm and serenity that can be felt in those magical places. I would like to remind you that the support is a canvas panel, with narrow edges, which needs to be framed.

Biography and Curriculum Silvia Carta Born in Sassari on 10/05/1977, I have always loved to draw as a child even though I have chosen other types of studies to cultivate another of my great passion, that for animals. I live and work as a veterinary surgeon in Sassari, but I have never abandoned the great passion for drawing and painting that has always been with me. I have been painting for years as self-taught. I prefer oil technique but I also find other pictorial techniques, such as acrylic, watercolor and pastel, very interesting. I draw more inspiration from landscapes, I draw inspiration mainly from my Earth and its wonderful colors, which I try to portray and interpret especially live. I also find inspiration in the landscapes I love to photograph on the occasion of my travels. Nonetheless, I also dislike other subjects, such as still lifes, which I like to reproduce meticulously the details on the canvas, as well as my careful and scrupulous personality tells me. For me, Art is a great passion, an evasion of the soul. It is a contact between me and nature, where the canvas is a medium, a means by which emotions and colors take shape.
