This sweeping skyscape is the latest in my sunset series and at 30” by 24” it is a perfect statement piece. It has taken many hours of work and been built up over a few weeks with numerous glazes in acrylic and oil, creating subtle colour effects.“ Sunset Over the Hills” is one of my favourites. It's an evocative painting of a moment in time during a walk in the countryside. The sides are painted in phtalo blue and there are no visible tacks or staples, so framing before hanging is unnecessary.
