surf, turf, and kayak Painting

I have begun doing landscapes just this year but I want to keep certain aspects that create at least a sense of a narrative. The empty kayak on an empty undeveloped beach. I hope a viewer takes that and constructs their own story. I want the woods to be like a wall. And these are two very different places, the space on this side of those trees and whats beyond the treeline. Somethings going to change when that threshold is crossed. After the fact of making the painting I'm reminded I always liked stories with pirates or exploring forests and jungles. I think a lot of those kinds of mental flights of fancy seem to be recurring more lately in my work.
