About The Artwork

Nimble ballet dancers evoke associations with light like a wind and white like a snow butterflies. However, thanks to Tschaikowski the most of people associate them with white, proude and beautiful swans. Appreciating the hard work of ballet dancers to evoke all those feelings on the stage I dedicated my piece of art to them. It belongs to the collection "The dancing pictures" ABOUT "THE DANCING PICTURES" Many painters focused on a specific moment. A moment just before or after a particular event that affected or would come to affect the depicted person. One of the best examples of this concept is Diego Velázquez's painting "Las Meninas". But nothing in the world around us is constant. "Panta rei"-these words I had in mind when I was trying to give my works motion. In my painting I want to capture not specific moments but whole processes. In this case I focus on dance. My pictures from the latest series “Dancing Paintings” can be hung in different constellations. Changing their positions makes them move. Not all figures are possible all the time. Just like the human skeleton limits the body, the canvas doesn't permit the figures all motions. With my paintings I want to create a new kind of dance: painted dance. It´s my idea of kinetic painting. The given size of the painting can be changed. It depends on the constellation of canvases. It can vary between: 107cm x 90 cm and 100cm x 130 cm

The Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Lliosa once said: „Life is a shitstorm, in which art is our only umbrella.” I want to introduce this umbrella into the space of our everyday life. I am an artist, translator and poet. I am running different artistic projects. Their various concepts rely on the basic idea: In a world ruled by shopping centres I fight for space for art in our everyday life. The battle is already lost, because art doesn't adhere to the requirements of the market. However, it does not mean for me to give up so easily. As a Polish I am a representative of a nation that in the past fought hoplessly for things it believed in. So do I.
