Synthetic Evolution - Set 4 - Composition 3 Painting

Synthetic Evolution: Systemically modifying an environment or system to effect change in emergent growth. Aim: Referencing Theo Van Doesburg’s Manifesto for concrete art as a conceptual and aesthetic point of departure, this work explores the idea of generating distinct visual images from a set of base boundaries and rules. Systematic modification of the rules is then employed to effect and control change. This process is articulated through 15 compositions, that when displayed holistically and in sequence, become evidence of a Synthetic Evolution.
