About The Artwork

From the poem by Hungarian poet Sándor Petőfi : The Judgement "I see thy veil, thou dark and deep future, And, lighting the fairy fire of foreboding, this I see through the veil, and what lies beneath, I shudder, I shudder, and I am cheered And rejoice in the silence." In the work, the juxtaposition of burgundy and black with grey is an emotional dichotomy, a symbolism of the struggle between the judge and the judged, good and evil. The broken-looking, almost bowed grey figure also hides a vigorous young man who faces power with a triumphant smile. He is not afraid, because good, even when faced with 'hellfire', will prevail. Sándor Petőfi's poem "The Judgement" was written in April 1847, barely a year before the 1848-49 Revolution and War of Independence. The poem, like the painting, reflects an emotional ambivalence about the future, with good and evil facing each other, and good must win.

Art is free, for me it is based on infinite freedom, which we experience mostly as a silent and solitary activity, but the way we feel and observe the world around us does not exclude anyone from us, because in our creations it is expressed as a message. I strive to process my personal experiences in compositions, in relationships to materials, so that the viewer can relate to the images. The central question is to draw from myself and my surroundings, because only then can the image be honest and authentic, and to formulate and present truths that can be applied to everyone. I feel that I am on a journey that is accompanied by the hope and sometimes the hopelessness of change. I am accompanied by the constant questions, doubts and ruminations that arise during the process of creation, and these are the thoughts that I intend to visualise. As a member of Art Associations, I exhibit my work in group shows, and opportunities to show my work through competitions give me the space to present myself.
