About The Artwork
I have done several paintings depicting the Argentine Tango. I love the emotion and the movement in the dance. TANGO 5 is painted on 4 mil. archival grade drafting mylar . This material is tough, waterproof, inert, flexible, dimensionally stable, and it does not have to be stretched, like canvas and watercolor paper. The painting is produced using India ink and acrylic paint on the mylar. There will only be one original and no authorized copies will ever be made This painting will be shipped in a tube. The mylar is easy to mount on any type of hardboard. I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell along with a hanging strip and mounting adhesive: everything you need to mount the artwork except the board. If you prefer, I will mount the artwork on tempered masonite board with a two or three inch border. It will be “ready to hang”, with a hanging strip attached to the back and a wall hanging device that is very simple to use. It will be shipped in a cardboard box. You may take it out of the box and have it hanging on your wall within five minutes. The extra charge is $50.00 for mounting plus the additional shipping costs. I am an architect by education, and profession. I have practiced architecture for over three decades. A good deal of my experience as an artist developed from doing architectural plans and illustrations. In addition to my architectural work, I have always enjoyed producing works of "visual art". It has provided a wonderful counterpoint to the precise work involved in architectural drawings: the highly precise vs. the "free and spontaneous". I still work with the same media that I have used in architectural work: India ink, graphite pencil and acrylic paint on archival quality mylar film. I like for my work to show either emotion or action.... Occasionally both. Emotion is usually captured in a close-up portrait or perhaps full figure drawings. Action is depicted in dance or sporting events. Other than that, I don't have any deep philosophical ideas about my art except that I want to produce works that people will enjoy and be proud to have hanging on their walls.
