This floral art will brighten up any dull day with its use of glitters and metallic paints. The picture doesn’t do it justice, the flowers and the background are made up of layers which glisten and shine as you see the painting from different viewpoints.

My inspiration for this painting

This original painting THE FLOWERS OF CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW was created as an unexpected pleasure as I watched the BBC coverage of the Show over the week of the Show. I am certain that I felt more emotion and inspiration from the coverage than could be covered in a day at the show so hence the decision to create after each televised programme. The resulting work is one of my distinctive flower paintings, full of colour, energy and emotion that gives you a painting that you will be proud to own.I have taken a little from each garden at the show to create the ultimate flower garden painting that you can transform the look of your room with.

“It is often the first thing they do to remind them of home, with sense and sound. Their gardens are a place to escape. Plants have a strong sensory nature and can transport people, take them out of those harsh environments. Gardens and gardening transcends cultures everywhere in the world. People want to be around beautiful spaces. That is something that, no matter where you are from, people can relate to.” Tom Massey The Lemon Tree Trust Garden

"Bright and beautiful -This year RHS Chelsea was not so much about any one colour as colour itself. Most of the gardens were full of joyous, often clashing hues: think vivid purples, dusky oranges and lemon yellows used against reds, pinks, peaches and blues in one glorious technicolour jumble. It’s great news for real-world gardeners looking to create maximum impact with minimal space. I began painting in 2010 following a professional career in wildlife conservation and the environment. My art is therefore inspired by my passion and interest in nature and places that I visit and love. I have always been an advocate of colour and texture believing that they can affect our mood and positivity in ways we may or may not understand. Being an extrovert and positive person generally, I have always been drawn to strong bright colours and hence when I started painting that influence showed in my work. Painting for me draws out the emotions around my love of nature and the outdoors. I am outside whenever I can be and I love traveling and exploring new places that then may inspire me to paint. I am a happy positive person and I want to bring joy, positivity and happiness to others through my painting as I believe focusing on the positives can help us live in a way that give us and others true depth and satisfaction. I am about creating connections. Between people and the natural world. Between the mind, body and spirit. Between people, their stories and their message to the world. Between emotions, intuition and energies that are present in our lives. My art is about allowing the creation and the magic to unfold naturally, in the moment and in an intuitive way that evolves visually before me through both paintings and installations and embracing the unknown by channelling the inspiration from the experiences and knowledge of the world around me. I rarely plan any of my work as I trust myself on an emotional and creative level to create the work that I feel deep within my heart. Most of my paintings are in acrylics as I love the strength and vibrancy of the colours they give on the canvas. I also use metallics and fine glitters to give a changing feel in different light conditions. I like to paint big..the bigger the better as I can be very extrovert in each piece moving and standing as I paint to give impact with each subject. I am about creating connections. Between people and the natural world. Between the mind, body and spirit. Between people, their stories and their message to the world. Between emotions, intuition and energies that are present in our lives.
