About The Artwork
This city is inspired by the Tol Eressëa port in Lord of the Rings. It is named after her (Taeresseya). When I painted it, I felt in turmoil since a dear friend just passed, leaving everyone around her in sandess. This is why the sea is represented in tempest while the ships are represented exiting the gulf, bringing order and hopefully harmony to the agitated ocean. The paiting's base is a black ink illustration, which was later watercolored. The last touch to this painting was the strips of gold on the left half of the painting.
