About The Artwork
I picked cats because of the funny expressions they use. They represent that feeling when you have been enjoying life, maybe a little bit too much. I paint the cats hyper realistic but yet have elements of the painting more graphic almost like wallpaper imagery. I enjoy playing with the spaces and giving my imagery a psychedelic energy.

Jaclyn Brown grew up in a small town in Ontario, Canada. In 2007 she moved to NYC to attend grad school and has stayed in NYC since. In 2008, Jaclyn received a scholarship from the NYAA for a residency at Kunst Werke Institute in Berlin. In 2014, she completed a residency at Jiwar in Barcelona. She has a studio in Bushwick and is active in the Bushwick art scene.
