The work depicts the archaic sea goddess Thétys, who appears in the midst of the oceanic eddies. Symbolizing the femininity and fertility of the sea, Thétys creates life in the oceans, nourishes the planet and welcomes the Sun at the end of its daily race. It is the illustration of the fertile and beneficial woman, it inspires strength, beauty, femininity. Present in the center of the painting, it is surrounded by a solar ring and tames the waves of a rough sea. It is also for me the metaphorical representation of the feminine power that engenders and nourishes the world from its submarine kingdom (sometimes invisible from the surface ...).
