Even when all doors remain closed, God will open up a new path only for you. Be thankful! It is easy to be thankful when all is well. A Sufi is thankful not only for what he has been given but also for all that he has been denied. Despair has been called a sin. There is no need for despair because we believe that whatever is done by Allah is good for us. We should thankful for what He has given us and also for what He has not given us. This is important because only Allah knows what things are good for us and what bad. He saves us from all bad things, though they may look good to us. We should be thankful for this kindness of His. We are denied things because they are detrimental for us. In the painting, I have presented a pious man with many keys in his hand. The door is locked. However, a plant has sprouted from the lock due to which the lock opens on its own. This is the kind of help Allah gives to those who do not despair. The man is happy for what he has and also happy for those things which have been denied. This is a figurative painting. The focal point is the figure in the painting. There is connection between the door and the lock. The colours used are green and blue. It is a realistic painting. Brush strokes have been used. The medium is oil paints on the canvas. The old door and the old man balance the painting and make the composition. White colour is for highlighting and values.
