About The Artwork
In June 2022, I accompanied 7 high schoolers into San Francisco for their first Pride parade. That year was the first celebration following Covid, and the energy was electric from the moment we got on the train. Throughout the day, as my kids saw their flag carried through the crowd, they would shout, “Hey! That’s my flag, too!” As a parent and friend to these young adults, it was a Best Day. This painting is a celebration of the diversity within the queer community, the beauty of individual expression, and the power of radical acceptance.
